Mission:Anticyclon band was found in January 1987 in Russian Far Eastern city of Magadan. Their first appearance at Magadan Rock Festival made them Main Prize and Audience's Sympathy Prize winners. At the same time their first demo, Dangerous Zone, was recorded. Toured actively, participated in local festivals, the band soon become one of the leaders of Far Eastern rock scene. By the end of 1987, their lineup was finally formed: Gennady Vyatkin (vocals, bass), Konstantin Ivanov (guitar), Nikolay Broslavsky (guitar), and Oleg Volkov (drums).

Mission:Anticyclon is mastering their art of performance on their frequent tours. Queer dresses, makeups, special showman -- all that was rarely found on Russian music scene in those years. Their shows were mixture of black humor with farcical buffoonery, straightforward parody and deep dramatism. Overall impression, along with powerful musical energetics, was unforgettable, and sensual vocals by Genna Vyatkin left many girls' hearts broken to crystal pieces.

They recorded Monroe, their fifth album, in Barnaul, in 1994. Album's concept was appeal to eternal feminity, personified in Marylin's image. That 80-minute work appeared experimental and uneven.

In the summer of 1998 the band recorded their Well And So Be It album at SBI Studios in Moscow. Key points of this album was extensive use of samplers, modern tune-up of live instruments, bright melodies and mysterious lyrics. The band tries to do music for everyone, avoiding both fake underground elitarism and pop pseudo-positivism. Mission:Anticyclon doesn't follow strict style limitations, using various actual musical forms to emphasize the main idea of each composition.
