In Big Hall of Moscow conservatory jazz pianist Leonid Chizhik gave his first in 8 years concert. It was titled "Mozart and Jazz". Chizhik played jazz variations on two overtures and Concerto # 23, and also his composition based on A-moll Sonata named "Fantazy Variations on Mozart Themes.
The orinions differs both in critics and public. Part of them stressed Chizhik's ability to imitate and quote all the major piano stars. While he was playing they tried to guess what quotation will be the next. Part of listeners found for themselves that "Mozart and Jazz" is something resembling "Hooked on Classics".
Absolute majority in the audience, especially in the back seats, were Leonid Chizhik fans. They met every jazz note with ovations not common in academic concert hall.
