Britney Spears, Shania Twain, and Whitney Houston get the lion's share of nominations for the 27th Annual American Music Awards, announced on Monday (Dec. 6), with three nods each.
All three divas shared nominee honors for Favorite Female Pop/Rock Artist, while Spears also received props for Favorite Pop/Rock Album (Baby One More Time) and Favorite New Pop/Rock Artist; Twain scored additional recognition for Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist and Favorite Female Country Artist; and Houston received additional nods for Favorite Female Soul Artist and Favorite Soul/R&B Album (My Love Is Your Love).
