Rapper Arrested in Stabbing

Rapper Jay-Z, arrested and charged with the stabbing a record executive at a party, was arraigned at 2:30 a.m. Friday and freed after posting $50,000 in bail. At the party he was performing six songs from his new album, Vol. 3 ... Life and Times of S. Carter (due Dec. 28). But within two hours the rapper violently and without clear provocation attacked Lance "Un" Rivera, who founded the Untertainment label.

Rivera was one of two men stabbed at a listening party at the Kit Kat Club for rapper Q-Tip's Amplified. Rivera was treated and released from St. Vincent's Hospital on Thursday morning.

Jay-Z is due back in court Jan. 31.

Jay-Z's songs address the consequences of illegal activity: "Murder is a tough thing to digest/ It's a slow process/ And I ain't got nothin' but time."
