The Black Crowes are hitting the road with former Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page for six dates beginning Tuesday in New York.
Fans can expect the Crowes to perform Led Zeppelin hits like "Whole Lotta Love" and "In My Time of Dying," while Page will let loose on Crowes gems like "Wiser Time" and "Remedy.". Also expect both acts to honor shared influences like Jimmy Reed and Chuck Berry.
"I think for us to do these gigs is kinda cool because the music is the thing carrying it," Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson said. "All we have to do is show up and play."
Page has been friendly with the band since 1993, employing the Crowes as an opening act for Page and Robert Plant, and occasionally sitting in with them on stage. The latest tour was inspired by a Crowes-Page gig for 400 people in a London club last June. Thousands of fans reportedly jammed the surrounding streets in an attempt to hear the proceedings inside.
