Belorussian musicians and music lovers of "Youth Front" sent messages to Internet sites of Metallica, U2, Deep Purple and others. Rock icons were asked to help bringing attention to oppressed in Belarus democratic rights and national Rock culture. A protest action is planned, called "World Rock for Belarus".
As reports "Belarussian Business Newspaper" ("Belorusskaya delovaya gazeta"), rock clubs in Belarus are closing, Rock concerts keeps on being banned and canceled. Rock Music, which, as "Youth Front" activists believes, is inevitable attribute of open free society, is tried to get exiled, musicians and concert organizers gets arrested.
The aim of the protest action is to attract attention of serious musicians and world rock fans community to the problems of Belorussia. The Greenpeace music initiatives, concerts in support of democracy in Tibet - these are proof of how musicians react to world problem and help raise the public opinion. It's hard to neglect or ignore those problems after such an actions.
