Lou Reed, the creator of the legendary New York group Velvet Underground, will start on a tour in June that will cover the US and Canada. He announced this after a performance at the New York club the Knitting Factory, which was in support of his recently released album, "Ecstasy." The tour will start on June 2 in Seattle. "Ecstasy" is Lou Reed's first album in the past four years (his previous work, "Set the Twilight Reeling" came out in 1996). The album, according to Reed, is dedicated to "all the ways that different people can go beyond themselves." "Each one of us at some point in his life experiences different kinds of ecstatic feelings," Lou Reed says. He admits that in the process of creating the album he was strongly inspired by the scenes of New York, which, he says, are present throughout the album like a permanent background.
