Юрий БАШМЕТ  Moscow Soloists for BBC

The radiobroadcasting company BBC is greeting the new millennium with the realization of a huge project- a broadcast of 10 concerts performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls of Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and South and North America. The fine arts of Russia were presented by the Moscow Soloists, under the direction of Yuri Bashmet.

The Moscow Soloists performed works by Petr Chaikovsky and Dmitri Shostakovich. According to BBC, the potential audience, or everyone who could have heard the performance totaled to about 143 million people.
