Elton JOHN  Elton John Named Person of the Year

Legendary pop singer Elton John has been named the Person of the Year by the MusiCares Foundation in conjunction with the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences. John will receive the award at a gala fundraising ceremony February 21 in Los Angeles. The event raises money for MusiCare's Financial Assistance Program, which provides assistance to aging musicians. John is being recognized for his accomplishments in music as well as his humanitarian efforts, most notably the highly successful Elton John AIDS Foundation.
