Estrangement is the key word for this album. When you can't stand your life, estrangement is a preferable way -- between suicide and compromise -- and so the music begins.
Indifferent sampled drumbeat on this album contrasting with nervous guitars in some industrial way. The voice isn't singing, it's rather speaking in a sort of recitative -- cold and, yes, estranged, unlike any rap jerk. The words, either bitter or sardonic, leave no illusions about the world we're live in. All in all, it's very depressive...
Vasily Shumov, former leader of the Russian band called Center, now living his estranged life somewhere in California. The CD box marked "recorded during 1992, year of riots, earthquakes and presidential elections". This mortal coil left no trace on the record. Selfish and desperate, yet ultimately honest, the album makes you shivering with feeling of recognition.
