The court in Amsterdam will examine the lawsuit of an independent production company, CASTAWAY (owned by Bob Geldof- the famous Irish singer, and organizer of famous music events in the 1980's) against the company ENDEMOL. The reason turned out to be the idea of "Big Brother," a television program which now successfully runs on several Western European channels. Geldof's colleagues believe that it was their show SURVIVE! that first came up with the idea of filming contest participants on a deserted island. In "Big Brother," contestants were watched with hidden cameras in a closed house 24 hours a day, for 100 days. The winner rules in both shows were also similar. Then again, "Big Brother" evoked protests from the more advanced side of its Western audience.
