The MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas might as well rename itself Heartbreak Hotel for three days starting Friday as it auctions off 5,000 items belonging to the King of Rock 'n' Roll, Elvis Presley.
Fans from around the world have gathered as Graceland, Elvis's Memphis mansion, holds its first ever garage sale.
The spring cleaning of Presley belongings includes keys to the fabled estate.
The list of memorabilia for sale also offers his Bible, his barber's chair, his Texaco credit card, his 1956 Lincoln Continental, his Walther handgun and his first piano, which the singer bought in 1954 shortly after he graduated from high school.
The material on sale all comes from Graceland but was not on display at the famous tourist attraction.
The proceeds of the auction - expected to range between $2 million and $3 million - will go to build homes for the homeless in Memphis in a project called "Presley Place.''
The sale was organized by Presley's only child, Lisa Marie Presley, 31, his sole heir. It is being conducted by a New York City auction house, Guernsey's.
