Sire  Просто скажи "Sire"

В 2006-м году исполняется сорок лет американскому лейблу "Sire". Возраст для звукозаписывающей компании, безусловно, солидный - и можно отметить, что "Sire" определенно есть, что отмечать. Основанный в 1966-м сотрудниками Billboard Сеймуром Стейном (Seymour Stein) и Ричардом Готтерером (Richard Gottehrer), в начале-середине 70-х именно этот лейбл начал записывать и выпускать новых представителей нью-йоркского андеграунда, ставших прародителями панка: Ramones, Television, чуть позже - Talking Heads. Так "Sire" заработал себе славу и репутацию - но на этом не закончил, и в последующие годы работал с такими именитыми артистами, как, к примеру, Мадонна (Madonna), The Smiths или The Pretenders.

Все они - и не только они - и будут представлены на специальной юбилейной компиляции под названием "Just Say Sire", которая сейчас готовится к выпуску сотрудниками лейбла. Сборник должен выйти уже 13-го сентября и будет по-настоящему фундаментальным: получился полноценный бокс-сет с четыремя дисками, одним из которых станет DVD. Спектр представленных артистов почти внушает благоговение: это, фактически, компактная история поп-музыки, от Лу Рида (Lou Reed) и Modern English до Pet Shop Boys и Афекса Твина (Aphex Twin), от The Undertones и Madness до Soft Cell и Ministry, от Echo & The Bunnymen до Ice-T - и так далее, и так далее, включая и весьма свежие коллективы вроде группы Wilco.
