Festival "Musical Exhibitions" for the first time takes place in Moscow, not in Sochi. There is no financial resources in the Sochi city budget to make the festival happen, so they moved it to the capital. The opening happened September 30. The festival is hosted by National Central musical culture museum.
Each year there is a specific topic of the festival. It can be the heritage of some significant musitian or a musical phenomenon. This year the festival is dedicated to the art of a composer Anthon Arensky (1861 - 1906). His serious pieces are not often played in Russia nowadays. So besides musical recitals there is an exibition at the festival: "Anthon Arensky: the lost world". Chaikovsky Museum housein Klin lands the best and largest in the world collection of Arensky materials to the Moscow festival, which will go on through October 3.
