Recorded in 1997 at 'Dobrolyet' studio in Petersburg. All music was composed, arranged and performed by 'Ilyitch' (Leonid Zamoskovsky). Kind of rap-core, with strong and energetic sound and weird gloomy lyrics: 'I've got up early today, I've dressed in white, clean as that crunching snow, I've decided to perform a huge dirty act: sunset by hand' (lyrics and vocal - Andrew Mashnin).
It's really difficult to translate the title of this album. 'Zhelezo' means 'Iron', so probably the best way to translate 'Zhaelezo' is 'Ai-ron'. Besides, one can easily see a word 'Zlo' (evil) on the cover. So what is all about? What does 'Mashninband' mean when singing about evil? Sickening neighbours ('The neighbours are writing newspapers The neighbours are pissing loudly I've killed all my neighbours Yes I've killed them all')? Nightmares? Odious person in the mirror? All those questions have no answers. More than that, there are no questions in 'Zhaelezo', it's just your inner self who is still asking all those stupid 'why?' and 'who's fault?'
But unfortunately after some 20 minutes of listening 'Zhaelezo' becomes boring - shouts, perfect arragements and meaningful texts do not prevent energy from dissapearing. Well, maybe absence of passion is nothing but the first step to enlightment.
Anyway, Mashninband is quite satysfied with this release. Andrew Mashnin is sure: 'I'm happy that this album is released, because it's a REAL album... we've done what we wanted to'.
